Things to Reconsider Why Failure is Good

Do you still remember the commercial ads of lucky me, wherein a child is crying when he got home because he failed somehow on his basketball try-out?

Pero sabi ng bata "tomorrow is another day" tapos dagdag nya "try and try until you succeed!"

But wait are you familiar with the proverb "If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again". Actually, it is a poem entitled "Try Again" written by anonymous but attributed to William Hickson.

Here's the complete text of the poem:

‘Tis a lesson you should heed–
            Try again;
If at first you don’t succeed,
            Try again.
Then your courage should appear;
For if you will persevere,
You will conquer, never fear,
            Try again.
Once or twice though you should fail,
If you would at last prevail,
            Try again.
If we strive, ’tis no disgrace
Though we did not win the race–
What should you do in that case?
            Try again.
If you find your task is hard.
            Try again;
Time will bring you your reward,
            Try again;
All that other folk can do,
Why with patience should not you?
Only keep this rule in view,
            Try again.

If you feel the need of learning something then learn it, if you hang in there and don't give up, you will ultimately succeed. If you attempt of doing something and failed then try again, however there is no shame in not winning as long as you try more than once to win. If it is difficult, then put extra effort and work because if others can do it, so you can do it too.

Here is why failure is good:

  1. Failure is a redirection. It leads you somewhere better and it shows you where you should't be.
  2. It is an opportunity to reevaluate and come back stronger with a better reasoning.
  3. It is not fatal - its not like it is the end of your world rather you given another shot to try it all again.
The sweetest triumph is normally the most challenging. The one that makes you go down deep inside, fight for everything you've got, to be willing to take the risks. But society don't reward defeat and you won't find any failures documented in history books.

We all know there are a lot of people who shares about their success stories even highly successful people who shares their failures before succeeding. What these people commonly tell us is NEVER GAVE UP!

Failure is necessary

Success requires effort that much like saying failure is important. Because failure is not defeat rather it is a steppingstone to later success. Let's take the case of Thomas Edison on his invention of the light bulb, allegedly it took him 1,000 times to developed a successful prototype. But when a reporter asked him "How does it feel to fail 1,000 times?". He then responded "I didn't fail 1,000 times but the invention of light bulb took me 1,000 steps."

It is a good thing to fail as it gives us a powerful life lesson

Experience that helps us develop a deeper understanding about life
Knowledge that helps us compromise any failure in the future in which it inflicted us so much pain
Resilience that helps us not to stay in the past rather to focus in the future
Growth that helps us reflect and take things into perspective, developing meaning from painful situations
Value that lies at the heart of success

Nick Vujicic, he was born with no arms and feet but then he has a successful life and a happy family. Sabi nga niya "If God can use a man without arms and legs to be his hands and feet then He will certainly use any willing heart!"

Failure naturally happens in our life that means you are on your way to success!

That's it folks!!
